Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Specialist


Marc Tonnacliff has been in the fire and emergency services field for over 30 years.  He is currently one of the Airport Firefighting Specialist for the FAA headquartered in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Tonnacliff is responsible for determining national ARFF strategies, writing regulations and guidance documents regarding airport firefighting for the FAA’s Airport Safety and Standards Program. 

Mr. Tonnacliff has also been a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee for Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting since 2006.  He also serves as the Rapporteur and senior FAA representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Rescue and Fire Fighting Working Group.  This group is charged with creating the ARFF standards and recommended practices for NATO member states worldwide.  He holds an MBA in Business Administration from Averett University.
